A Little More Info....

Instructed by some of the best art teachers in Central Maine, children will be introduced to a variety of fine art and craft media including painting, fiber arts, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and more. With an emphasis on student-centered learning, students will be encouraged to think independently while developing skills in order to creatively problem solve. Hélène Farrar Art provides a unique opportunity outside the formal classroom to create meaningful and mentor-based relationships with their instructor, to experience a working artist studio, a warm community of learners, a thriving downtown and a greater arts community.

Students are met at where they are. Whether they come to learn after a thirty year hiatus from painting, or with young hands and fingers eager to make "stuff", students will be guided thoughtfully and with acceptance. Every student will leave their lesson or class with confidence and inspiration.

About Me

My photo
Helene
Hélène comes from an artistic family with strong ties to New York City, although she has lived the majority of her life in Maine. After graduating with an art degree and a teaching certificate from the University of Maine, she went on to receive her MFA from Goddard College in Vermont. She is now a professional artist and art educator who divides her time equally between making her work, and teaching at both a small local elementary school and at her studio in Manchester.
